Genie Knuckle boom lifts are strong four wheel drive and four wheel steering capable equipment that allow work to be completed effectively, even when the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system which allows the user to easily calibrate the equipment and its components. System diagnostics are available in many languages. On the Z-80/60 unit, there are dual fuel options available. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is quiet, but turbocharged. It allows for better performance at higher altitudes. It also carries more than enough torque for better grade-ability and terrain.
The full-time positive traction and 4-wheel drive ability adds better traction for tough terrain. The Z-135/70 just provides four-wheel steering. Optional features on this particular unit include coordinated, crab, front wheel, and rear wheel steering to give the machine added agility. The full-time active oscillating axle helps enhance wheel contact on uneven ground. All of these features make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts smoother and easier to operate on irregular terrain.
Though these units are bigger compared to other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features such as continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with remarkable range of motion and reach. The design of the Z-boom gives the models exceptional up and over positioning capability that ranges from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 unit to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 model. The XChassis expanding axle is an ingeniously designed mechanism utilized for both retracting and extending axles in and out of stowed position. The width of the Z-135/70 model machinery is just 2.46 meters when the axle is stowed. For easier transport, the Z-80/60 has fixed width axles.
