During 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. At that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to lower and raise the hoist. This device really impressed a lot of customers and therefore, the name was established.
Genie has moved into many new markets, since the need for work platforms and lifts grew. Over time, when the requirements for new equipment to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in many new markets. For instance, Genie went into production with telehandlers, stick booms, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Genie decided to obtain a partner who held the same values as a result of the economic recession during the start of the 2000s, when they partnered together with Terex. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers all over the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie machines continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also committed to minimizing waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on providing outstanding support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
The Bi-Energy and DC machinery provided by Genie provide emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work settings. Where the equipment must be driven significant distances, like within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator together with the benefits of a 48V DC equipment.
As opposed to any of the various types of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are great for limited access areas in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These machines provide supreme traction and the drive speed you need to be able to travel around the work site and job area.
