SMAG is a German company and world leader in the manufacture and design of Peiner Grapples and Buckets. Our manufacturing line consists of mechanical motor grabs, hydraulic lifting equipment, electro-hydraulic motor grabs, single rope radio control grabs and a range of other types of specialized lifting machinery.

Peiner has manufactured and sold more than 75,000 models for the worldwide market. Peiner's unique grabs could deal with a huge array of materials and products such as iron ores, cement, coke, fertilizers, scrap and refuse. Our years of experience in the overall designing process and in developing excellent products helps to allow our customers be given the proven technology their diverse applications require.

Within the United States marketplace, SMAG/Peiner has been represented by Peiner USA, Inc. Different industries such as Scrap Handling, Steel Mills, Waste to Energy, as well as numerous other material handling facilities like Bulk Transfer Facilities presently relying on our buckets and grabs to get their tasks done.

Peiner's design philosophy has continually revolved around the idea of making grabs that deal with the biggest volume rather than grab dead weight. Usually, the grab and bucket lifting ratio's meaning that 60 percent of material is dead weight vs. 40 percent grab dead weight. This translates into transporting more quantities of materials faster. There is less wear and tear on the crane structure and its related parts. By combining manufacturing with high quality materials and innovative design, the required weight ratio is obtained.

To be able to meet the particular requirements of our customer's individual requirements, grab sizes range from less than 1 cubic yard to more than 50 cubic yards. Peiner USA Inc. additionally offers a complete service facility and spare parts facility for the units purchased within the USA, along with the addition of new buckets and grabs.
