The lift truck is an important piece of equipment in most companies that operate warehouses, distribution centers, industrial and storage handling plants. This wonder equipment, the lift truck is made of various components, such as the essential carriage, the power source, the engine and the wheels. Lift trucks normally have a range of attachments also. The following are some of the most important forklift components.
Engine of the Forklift - the lift truck is made with a power source at the rear of the equipment. Various kinds of forklift truck have different kinds of engine which require varying power sources. Like for instance, a forklift with an IC engine can have as its power source any of the following: CNG gas, LP gas, diesel or gasoline. Electric motor forklifts receive their power from fuel cells or a battery.
Frame of The Truck - The truck frame is the base of the forklift and the most important of all the lift truck components. This forms the equipment's core. All other components of a lift truck are connected to the base, including the axles, mast, wheels counterweight and overhead guard. Fuel and hydraulic fluid tanks can be part of the frame assembly also.
Counterweight Lift Truck Parts - the counterweight is what allows the machine to be balanced while carrying heavy cargo. This part is made of heavy cast iron and is connected to the backend of the forklift truck. The counterbalance balances the truck frame in order to prevent it from tipping over when a load is being carried or lifted on the front. The heavy lead-acid battery in an electric lift truck gives balance and can work as part of the counterweight.
The Cab Area - The cab is also known as the operator compartment. Lift trucks would sometimes have closed cabs while others will be open to the air. There are lots of parts situated within the cab for operating the forks. The cab contains such important components like for example the switches, levers, operator controls, steering wheel, pedals and seats. The dashboard contains operator readouts.
