Kinds of Construction Lifts or Boom Lifts
A boom lift is a piece of machinery that enables personnel to carry out jobs without having to construct a scaffolding. They are used to work on elevated structures, to do maintenance work and are common machines found in factory and warehouse environment too.
Usually, construction lifts provide powered and wheeled bases which are capable of driving to the work place and have a platform on them which is responsible for elevating personnel. There are many different kinds of lifts and every one is suitable to various tasks and settings.
Bucket Trucks
Cherry pickers or bucket trucks, are built with a long boom that has a bucket connected at the end. This bucket area is where a worker may stand. Normally, bucket trucks are used by landscapers and by utility workers. Landscapers usually use these kinds of machines to trim trees.
Every bucket truck has a boom assembly mounted to a standard truck, which enables these vehicles to move fast on regular roads. What's more, this increases the area which this equipment can service effectively. This is especially essential for power companies. For instance, a lot of these companies use cherry pickers to elevate workers up so they could work on and reach transmission lines. The buckets need to be inspected frequently and properly insulated since they are working close to possible shock hazards.
Articulated booms lifts or knuckle lifts have a work platform mounted to an arm which could bend and reach obstacles. The base of the lift includes a turntable and could turn the lift in a full circle. The base of the lift is mounted on wheels as well for extra mobility.
Normally, the articulated boom lift is used for landscaping projects but is also useful for maintenance work on projects which are already completed. Projects that do not require easy access directly below the jobsite. These lifts could be used to repair piping or exterior electrical work, as well as difficult to clean areas. Often knuckle lifts are driven by the worker in the platform with the boom extended.
